After watching the introduction video about Acropolis
I'm calming down again. No, I won't fall for the hype this time. The
hype that will probably be generated by Microsoft and Acropolis.
I really liked the CAB and SCSF concept. But the latest, somewhat heated up discussion between Jeremy D. Miller, Oren Eini, Chris Holmes and Glenn Block
really made me thinking. And the result of this discussion is that I
will watch the development of Acropolis from a far bigger distance than
I used to.
From what I saw in the Acropolis video, I must say
that I'm a little bit disappointed. Acropolis seems to become another
RAD tool. A RAD tool on a new level, yes, but RAD. You may
be impressing managers with this stuff, but not me.
In defense
of this project I have to say, that I didn't take a closer look at
Acropolis. And it would be unfair to discard it. But I will watch it
skeptically.
Btw, Glenn Block, from the P&P group
answers some question you may have regarding Acropolis and the future of CAB, SCSF.
