Scott Hanselman's Tools List 2006

August 29, 2006 21:52 by Jens

Scott Hanselman updated his famous Power Users Tool List for Windows. If you don't know this list I strongly recommend you to check it out.

Scott set up a huge, comprehensive list of useful tools. These tools are especially interesting for developers and other power users. If you don't know this list yet, you will definitely find a tool that you were always looking for. I promise!

My mailing lists

August 24, 2006 21:51 by Jens

This is how my Yahoo Groups subfolder in my mail client looks like today:

That means 1930 unread items in my yahoo groups folder. I have no idea when I will have the time to check them, and at least try to catch up. (And there are about 500 unread items in my feed reader, too. :-/)

In case you're wondering what those mailing lists are about:

  • agileDatabases at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/agileDatabases/

Discussion about Database management with regards to Extreme Programming practices and principles.

  • art-of-agile at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/art-of-agile/

This group is for discussion of the forthcoming book, _The Art of Agile Development,_ by James Shore and chromatic, to be published by O'Reilly.

  • domaindrivendesign at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/domaindrivendesign/

This group is for discussion of the domain-driven style of designing software, and the book by Eric Evans, Domain-Driven Design: Tackling Complexity in the Heart of Business Software. Questions and discussion of the book content is welcome here, as well as sharing of experiences applying DDD, and discussions of the topic in general.

  • pragprog at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pragprog/

Where Pragmatic Programmers chat, exchange information, and scare each other with horror stories.

Jimmy Nilsson at DotNetRocks!

August 21, 2006 21:49 by Jens

A couple of days ago I sent a mail to the guys from DotNetRocks. I asked them to invite Jimmy Nilsson to the show. (I'm a huge fan of his book "Applying Domain-Driven Design and Patterns")

And here is their reply:

If you check out the "Coming Up..." section on http://dotnetrocks.com/ you'll see that we are INDEED having Jimmy Nilsson on the show August 29th.

Man, I am so excited! Thank you, Carl and Richard!
